This federal initiative aims to make public transport more accessible through free regional travel and free nationwide travel for young people, students, seniors, and people with low incomes. Intercantonal travel remains accessible through regular ticketing ora General Travel Pass capped at CHF 3 per day. The project includes major investments to develop a modern, reliable, and well-coordinated network of trains, buses, trams, and boats, also outside of the city. Funded without raising public taxes, this ambitious transformation guarantees more accessible public transport, designed with public input to meet real mobility needs.
